RAIN

Freya Nie, BIPH

A mourning shade of yellow,

Paints over the starry night.

The reflection of my dulled eyes show

Heavy clouds of blue on my right.

A small droplet of rain,

Rolls down the leaves of a tree.

I rub my eyes in pain,

Hoping for someplace to flee.

I stare at the droplet of rain,

Observing it slowly disintegrate.

My senses begin to fade,

As I watch my vision turning grey.

——Wiping out all light,

My hopes, nowhere in sight.
